Why this exists
I don’t rent any more. I did, and I remember what it was like — the good wall being the one wall you couldn’t touch, the mental note never to mention the picture hook at inspection, and the quiet decision not to bother decorating because you’d be gone in a year anyway.
That last one is the part that bothers me. Renting shouldn’t mean living somewhere that never quite feels like yours. Most decor is designed for people who own their walls, and the rest of us get told to buy a free-standing shelf and be grateful.
So I started designing for the actual constraint instead of pretending it isn’t there.

What I design around
Every piece has to survive the same four things.
A one-kilo ceiling. Adhesive wall strips have a hard weight limit, and designing right up against it is how things end up on the floor. Every piece sits comfortably under it — planter, soil, water and all.
Small rooms. Rentals are not generous. Nothing here needs a feature wall or a spare corner.
Coming down again. These get removed and put back up — a new flat, a rearrange, an inspection. That’s a design requirement, not an inconvenience.
Leaving no evidence. No holes, no anchors, no filler, no touch-up paint, no conversation with the agent.
Made one at a time, by me
No Trace Decor is one person. I design the pieces and I print them myself, to order — nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you.
That means I can be fussy in ways a factory can’t. Every piece is sealed with polyurethane, so it handles water and cleaning rather than just surviving them. Nothing goes on sale until I’ve mounted it on a real wall, filled it, watered it, and taken it down again to check what it left behind.
Made to order also means nothing is made that nobody wanted. No dead stock, no warehouse of last season’s colour, no pallet of unsold plastic looking for a landfill.
What’s coming: the Doric Wall Planter is the first piece, not the whole plan. Sconces and lighting are designed and next in line, then vases, shelves and the rest of the range — all built to the same rule. If there’s something you can’t hang in your place, tell me. That’s genuinely how the list gets written.
